Coaching: Women in Demanding Roles

Coaching is a phenomenal insight into the mind - with a view to getting people to attain more clarity and understand more openly the steps they can - and ought to take - to fulfil their goals and dreams. Fundamentally, you may not appreciate, that this process remarkably also facilitates the removal of self-sabotaging barriers and blocks.
As an empath with a solution focused approach to life, I couldn’t have ended up in a better career.
But I can’t help but feel for all the women who are in demanding roles and possibly juggling health, caring responsibilities, household management, emotional or physical demands, conflict or issues at work or more. If you are wondering - this is most women.
We are ALL dealing with more than you may realise BUT few are actively doing anything about it. Not because you don't want to, but you probably unsure of how to begin or sustain the steps that will keep supporting you to move forward.
I’ve worked with high achievers for over twenty years. I will have been classed as one of these, getting straight through university and law school to be come a lawyer by the age of 24.
We talk more about "wellbeing" - but are we taking it seriously? Or do we now "pooh-pooh" it?
Positively, I see more openness within the conversations I generate and, slowly, more women are taking charge and willing to INVEST IN THEMSELVES.
I myself had spent most of my 20s and 30s, putting myself bottom of the "so much to do" list - the only person who could shift this was ME.
And I urge you to prioritise yourself too.
There is a career path for high achieving females and there are so many more role models and mentors now to make the journey to whatever success means to you more realistic.
When women open up and support each other, amazing things happen.
Progress requires preparation and action. I’ve seen how hard it is, how women keep giving their all; but also how women don’t necessarily know how to be ready enough and maintain their wellbeing. You have to invest in yourself. Coaching is one of the most effective ways to advance - as a person who wants to be her best self, and in whatever you choose for your career.
Many women often carry three jobs:
📈 Working diligently, politely, for the success of the company
🏠 Invisible domestic or admin responsibilities at home/with family (even with a nanny or cleaner etc)
X Caring for immediate or extended family
The mental load is heavy. I do not think any of these are necessarily negative for females but, without support, it can show up as:
Decision fatigue or indifference
Irritability and lack of motivation
Constant exhaustion
Sadness, defeatism
Snapping
Guilt - when you can’t support everyone or everything in the way that you want to.
Anger or procrastination, even doom scrolling
🎤 Talk to other women - openly. If you’re on the pathway to career progression/promotion, ensure your mentors understand you. For that, you must understand yourself first. And understand your WHY? Mel Robbins often talks about "purpose" since it is a huge factor in your uncovering your best self.
A further step is to look at Coaching which offers a personal and confidential space to reset, reflect, and rebuild resilience. It also builds greater happiness. Why? Because you are taking control and ownership of the life you want to invest in.
